They made a couple of site visits, the first for a preliminary look, the second for a detailed examination of the whole installation, after which we received a detailed proposal for a new solution within a matter of days. Western Air Ducts’ design included the provision of new ductwork with gentler bends, further dampers on woodworking equipment, as well as additional baffles and inlet exhausts, creating not only in a quieter extraction system, but also a more energy efficient one. The proposal was accepted, and the job went ahead very quickly and smoothly – everything was completed in a matter of weeks.
The reduced noise levels have been measured and confirmed by Environmental Health officers, the students find the working environment in the woodworking shop much improved, and the local residents are happy once again – so an excellent result all round.
