Gooch & Housego is a photonics technology business headquartered in Ilminster Somerset, UK with operations in the USA and Europe. A world leader in its field, the company researches, designs, engineers and manufactures advanced photonic systems, components and instrumentation for applications in the Aerospace & Defense, Industrial, Life Sciences and Scientific Research sectors.
They approached Western Air Ducts for help with the requirement to install a central fume extract system linking to several fume cupboards that were already in place.
We designed several bespoke hoods connecting to the fume cupboards which lead to a new duct system extracting the fume to atmosphere at high level.
In addition we fitted our patented Inteliair® system to this extract system so that the extraction can be controlled to individual fume cupboards when required rather than all of them at the same time. This will result in a reduction of energy costs and a return on investment over a short period of time.
The total time for the installation was three days and minimal amount of inconvenience caused as Western Air Ducts employee their own installation teams that have over 40yrs experience in the fitting of dust and fume extraction systems.
